New website and preview of upcoming release 2.3

You may wonder about the reason for a relaunch of our website after just one year. It was a slow process that started with some rather small changes and finally ended in a complete facelift of the website. The result is a new site that is clearly arranged, user-friendly and - we believe - even cooler than the old one! Additionally we have been able to add two new translations, Spanish and Japanese.

That is not all! Surprise, surprise... we would also like to announce that Endian Firewall Community 2.3 and Endian Firewall Enterprise 2.3 are in the starting blocks. Both releases are due to come out in autumn 2009.

The new releases will include lots of new features including a full featured intrusion detection/prevention system, quality of service and bandwidth management, a new dashboard, event notifications, traffic based hotspot tickets, SNMP support and many more. Last but not least, we also wanted to give something back to our community. Therefore the new Endian Firewall Community release will include most of the features that previously were available in the enterprise edition only. Among the newly included features are: VLAN support, group based web policies, time based access control, support for UMTS/GPRS/3G modems, policy-based routing, a live log viewer and an improved backup system.
