The procedure is only applicable for upgrading existing Endian software/virtual appliances.
- You must have a supported UTM model (see above) running the most current version of EndianOS which is 5.2.15
Step 1: Create a backup of your current Endian 5.x appliance into a safe location on your computer using this article (ignore the option about saving to USB checkbox).
Step 2: You should receive a link from an Endian representative for EndianOS 6.3. Download the 6.3 image files into a safe location on your computer.
Step 3: Install your 6.3 image onto your appliance by following the instructions in the corresponding Endian Quickstarter document below. For Virtual appliances, you may also consult the README files which are located inside the zip file you receive.
Step 4: Restore a backup on the Appliance.
- Go to System > Backup > Backup and click the "Upload a Backup" button and upload your backup created in Step 1 in the file browser window
- The system will automatically reboot after the backup is successfully imported
Step 5: Open a ticket with Endian Support to update your appliance in Endian Network.
