With the new release of EndianOS, we are addressing this trend and enabling greater flexibility while maintaining maximum control and transparency,” says Endian CEO Raphael Vallazza.

EndianOS is a hardened, Linux-based operating system and forms the technological foundation for the Endian Secure Digital Platform. It connects and protects IT and OT environments and enables secure remote access as well as the consistent implementation of the zero-trust principle. The platform consists of three layers: security gateways, management tools, and secure endpoint connectivity.

Release 6.9 takes remote access security to a new level: Administrators can set up remote access to require prior approval. Users request access to defined resources via a web form, and specify the desired time slot. Access is granted only after explicit approval by authorized parties.

Privileged Access Management (PAM) helps companies monitor access with privileged rights, such as that of administrators. It ensures that policies and security measures are enforced automatically, monitors user behavior after login, and supports the restriction of privileged accounts.

In addition, sessions can be recorded to meet audit and compliance requirements. The recordings are available to authorized users and can be stored flexibly, including seamless integration with S3-compatible storage for scalable, long-term archiving.

EndianOS 6.9 also introduces an on-demand Layer 2 VPN. This provides users or technicians with direct Layer 2 access to remote networks when needed, as if they were on-site. This enables support for SCADA or legacy protocols, as well as the integration of devices that do not support traditional Layer 3 communication (TCP/IP). The connection is established on demand when needed, thereby eliminating the need for permanent data tunnels.

Onboarding new gateways is also more convenient with the new release. Greater transparency within the deployment processes reduces potential sources of error and accelerates rollouts. In addition, Endian provides powerful tools that simplify gateway configuration management throughout the entire lifecycle. This saves time, reduces costs, and increases operational reliability in complex environments.
