How to get involved?

Are you satisfied with our product? We view your help and contribution to the Open Source project as the honest way of expressing your thanks.
There are several ways to help on the project and the success of Endian Firewall.

Provide help

The most valuable way is to frequently read the Mailinglists and help other people with their problems. This will not only help us focus on development, but you will earn our respect and furthermore you will highly regarded by others.

Improve the Knowledge Base

Try to help increase our Knowledge Base by searching the mailinglist for frequently asked questions and send considerations using the FAQ suggestion form. A well sorted Knowledge Base should decrease the need of asking on the forum and help people solve their problems faster.

Help translating the project

Create new translations or extend, improve, review existing translations. Our language skills are limited, therefore we relay on your help in order to reach the goal to provide our firewall for every known language. Simply use the collaborative online translation tool provided by Launchpad. Thank's to Canonical Ltd. and the Launchpad Teams at this point.

Test and search for bugs

Download the latest iso and try it out. Bug hunting is time consuming and hinders us from developing new features. It helps us tremendously if we find the bugs properly filed with our Bug tracker. Read more about how to write accurate bug reports.

Write documentation

If you like to write documentation, EFWs documentation is always under construction and needs your help in order to reflect the latest changes or simply to redraft, restyle or improve it. Read more about how to work on the documentation.

If you like to work on a translation, feel free to do it. Please send us a short notice about your plans in order to allow us to prevent people from doing double work.

Help on development

Developers are always welcome. You can help us most by adopting one of our bugs in the bug tracker, try to understand what's going on and try to fix it.

If you have plans for a new feature which you would like to implement, please check our Development Roadmap and get in contact with us first, in order to prevent doubling work and to prevent writing code which we we won't be able to use because of our technical design plans. Send us a post card to our company's address. We are also happy if we can see in which part of the world our users live and how spread out our software is. We will scan the post cards and publish them from time to time on our homepage.

Make a Donation through Sourceforge. Since we rely a lot on Python, we automatically support the Python Foundation with a part of Your donation. Since we also rely on other free projects, we support them from time to time if possible.
