New Features of Endian Firewall 2.3

Dashboard
Would you like to know what is happening in your network? Just open the new Endian Dashboard and you'll have access to all your most critical network information at a glance! The live graphs will give you a bird’s eye view of the network activity, system resources, application-level proxies, system updates and much more. With the Endian Dashboard you'll get a quick overview of your network with detailed, real-time information displayed through an eye-catching and highly functional interface.
Quality of Service and Bandwidth Management
Endian recognizes the importance and value that users place on having a fully-configurable and advanced QoS system: with 2.3 we finally have it! The QoS module has been completely redesigned to offer an advanced Quality of Service and Bandwidth Management solution for your Endian UTM Appliance. Now you can define the bandwidth of each network interface and manage incoming and outgoing traffic, define bandwidth classes, rules based on network zones, IP/MAC addresses, source/destination ports and more. Managing the bandwidth of your network has never been so easy and flexible. It‘s time to take control of your network traffic!
Intrusion Prevention System
Powered by Snort, the leading open source intrusion detection and prevention engine. It's now possible to configure individual actions per rule to allow, drop, or log packets based on any of the Snort signatures. Your Endian UTM Appliance will prevent intrusions as well as provide valuable historical log information. With Endian 2.3 you can now unleash the full potential of Snort.
Group-, User-based content filtering and enhanced Web Security
The HTTP proxy has been completely redesigned with a more polished web interface. It's also been significantly enhanced to become a full-functional web filtering firewall. You can now create powerful content filtering rules based on a variety of HTTP related information including: network zones, authentication groups (Active Directory, LDAP, or RADIUS), source/destination IP and/or MAC, day and time, and more. All of this makes Endian 2.3 release the ultimate tool for web security.
Enhanced Network Address Translation (NAT)
Thoroughly redesigned, the NAT User interface and is even more powerful than before. Now you can add port forwards from any zone (previously only from the RED zone) and define extremely powerful rules for access control in a single step. You can even disable NAT for certain sources, zones or protocols and very complex network environments can be implemented with just few clicks.
Traffic-based Hotspot tickets and automatic user generation
Have now traffic-based tickets in addition to time-based tickets, that enables billing and accounting of users based on the amount of traffic generated in each session. With the new User Generation tool you can automate the serialized creation of users. Just select the username generation method and how many users you want to create, the system will do the rest!
Event handling and notification
Each Endian subsystem or application can be configured to automatically email the system administrator a notification for predefined events. It's now easier than ever to proactively react to network-related malfunctions or performance issues.
SNMP support
Thanks to the new SNMP support, administrators can now easily keep control of their Endian Appliances with almost any centralized monitoring tools available on the market.
Revamped Mail Security
The web interface of the SMTP proxy has been overhauled focusing on increased usability. The mail security of your network will be managed easily and flexibly!
Sophos Anti-Virus (optional)
Use the leading commercial Sophos Anti-Virus engine as an alternative to the open source ClamAV. This module is optional and you can select your preferred antivirus engine.
Commtouch RPD (optional)
This optional module offers the Commtouch RPD engine as an alternative or addition to Spamassassin, dramatically increasing the Spam catch rate. This real-time, fully-automated messaging security solution, based on Recurrent Pattern Detection and GlobalView technologies to block spam, phishing and malware, enabling service providers and security vendors to reduce costs, attract new customers and enhance their competitive offerings.
