How do I calculate the number of users?
- Endian Firewall Community There are no user licensing limitations with the Endian Community edition. You are only limited to the resources of the hardware in which Endian is installed. We do recommend, however, that users be reduced due to the lack of support and centralized updates in the community edition.
- Endian Firewall Hardware Appliances (Mini, Mercury, Macro X1, Macro X2) There are no user licensing limitations for users or IP addresses with the hardware solution. You are only limited to the resources of the Endian hardware appliance. Each appliance comes with a user recommendation based on utilizing Endian's entire feature set. The performance of the device varies upon your infrastructure's dependency of the Internet and configuration (proxy activation, Logged in VPN, IPS and Application Level Filters)
- Endian Firewall Software Appliances Endian Software Appliances are offered in "blocks" of user licenses which allows you to utilize your current hardware infrastructure. A user is any device that connects to the Internet through the firewall. This also includes Roadwarriors and VPN login users. The number of users are monitored, but not blocked. This means that if you should exceed the number of purchased licenses, you will receive a warning to reconsile the discrepency or upgrade to account for the new users before incurring a suspension of services. If no action is taken within 30 days of the warning, access to Endian Network & the roadwarrior VPN client, updates, upgrades and support will be denied.
